PL Week 22 - Stitching Fun!

Project Life - Week 22:  I felt like stitching!  I used some bright and cheerful paper someone RAK'd me many moons ago.  I cut some 3x4 cards, dug out my stitching templates, DMC floss and got comfy!  It was so relaxing.  Here's a pile on my desk!

How stinking cute is that fox / cat?

The butterflies were OY! pains to stitch and the arrows so soothing.  Next to the fox / cat, I love love love the flower.  (I know, right?  Mollymoo loves a WHAT?!?!  How many times you seen me paper craft with a **coughcough** flower?)

Now for the week.

I was in the drive thru line @ KFC, bored, so I read the bottom of my OPI nail polish bottle. STRAWBERRY MARGARITA.  huh?  Really?  Nah.  I looked again.  dang.  STRAWBERRY MARGARITA.  I immediately texted my manicurist / stylist...I have my FAVORITE drink on my fingernails!  She said I was crazy.  Hmmm...I bet she wondered how long it would take me to realize I had a bottle of STRAWBERRY MARGARITA.  No wonder she looked at me funny every time she told me the name.  I was so not paying attention.  Geez.  LOL.  Anyway,  that day, I also noticed it matches my new summer purse!  Notice also, that I had dripped on my Kindle...hmmm...

What a bright & cheerful weekly spread it turned out to be!  Lovely!

AMMCC6 - Take TWO!

I'm having fun.  LOL.  Here's take TWO on the AMMCC6.  Our challenge:

My page:

So...what did I NOT drag out this time.  ;-)

Yesterday, I spent time with Cameo.  I got her some new materials & patterns to cut;  we made a scalloped stencil from stencil material.  mollymoo spent a little while poking out scallops.  LOL.  It was all good.  Anyway, there were some places it did not cut through...and I thought it was kinda sorta neat, ya know.  I still have pink, hot pink and gray on the brain.  SU! Pretty in Pink, taped on the stencil and went to town with light molding paste & a plastic picnic knife.

Then this mornin' I dug through my Studio Calico Marks & Co scrapbook kit, RIPPED the paper & rubbed on some SU! Tea Stain.  Pasted that on...having hiked up to my shop earlier for a SU! background stamp...Print Pattern and slapped on some Encore Silver.  Went outside and sprinkled on some Mr. Huey Skyscraper...let me say, I gasped!  I forget it dries to a nice gray.

I ripped some SU! fabric and stitched it on with some SU! gray taffeta, added some pinked velvet in light pink and hot pink...and then stitched on some wide gray grosgrain!  I'm loving all the frames around cute little T-2.  That was her first night in the house.

Frames, die cuts, PL card, stitching template...all from Marks & Co.  The cat clip and the thickers, also from Studio Calico.  I love the look of the silver diamonds!

Those splatters...the molding paste dries to a velvet texture.  Interesting.

More stitching & splatters...and some silver diamonds!

Another page...that started just cuz...turned into a neat page featuring T-2.  LOL.  She sat in the window taking a nap the whole time I worked on the page!  'cept when I went outside...she followed me to the door.  What a cat!

Wheel Power

I purchased a sheet of designer paper from the Studio Calico's HERE and THERE collection for a specific purpose.   It feels so good to use it!

Bicycle paper!  The paper is quite busy.  I used handbook inserts (Last Call - sale!) and three sheets from the HERE and THERE 6 x 6 pad.  I used a sketch from the TOOLBOX Classroom over @ Studio Calico, but the sketch was larger than my photo would allow, so I matted the "sketch" on the chocolate chip!

When I get all the paper down, I have to get out my 12 cup muffin pan and my wood veneer storage box and GO TO TOWN dropping things on the layout!  I knew I wanted to use the wood veneer bikes...and oh...look @ those arrows...I can make a bike trail!  And I have to add sequins.  I now have a sequin is-shoe.  I put sequins on everything!  ahem.

I decided to do some stitching as well, enhancing the "air waves".  LOL.  Maybe that's wind.  The handbook inserts are thick to pierce and stitch through.  I used three strands of black DMC floss.  I'm learning more and more about stitching on paper; practice makes perfect!

I love the banner & the hot air balloon and the cut out air waves, I mean wind.  Love the colors - turquoise, pumpkin pie, light blue, chocolate chip!

I love that kiddo sitting on the bike.  He was almost 10.  He learned to ride his motorcycle when he was almost six.  Years later, he learned to ride a bicycle with no motor.  And I wonder why he likes motorized things.  LOL.

Welcome to Halloween Bash 2006

It feels soooo good...to be using my stash AND scrapping a stack of photos ALREADY printed!  :D  And of a fun fun time to boot!

Check it out.  This is the opening page of the Halloween Bash 2006 section of the Halloween Scrapbook.

I had fun with this.  This was the FIRST Halloween Bash we put on.  We had a blast.

I was inspired by a VSN challenge...and I created a scrapbook page.  While it is not a card, it does fall within the VSBN time limit of a 2 hour page.  (The card limit is 45 minutes.  Stitch like mad...you can do it in 2 hours.  **wink**)

I used the SC Sunday Sketch for 02.17.13, pulling in pieces from my SU! stash, SC's Front Row SB kit, Popcorn SB Add-on and some SC shop items.

The spider web is stitched! I stamped on scratch paper and then paper pierced a pattern that I stitched in with DMC floss. This is BRIGHT IDEA #8 - String Art. (Bright Ideas is a class I'm taking @ Studio Calico this month.)  The spiders are stamped, colored and then covered with Cyrstal Effects.

My favorite part was using Prima Chalk ink on the naked chipboard letters! Those letters are retired SU! On Board Letters. The ink is Prima Chalk Edger in Branch Bark!  They look like chocolate letters...good enough to eat!

I love veneer. Check out the veneer speech bubble and arrow from Freckled Fawn, geo-tags from Studio Calico and brackets from Sodalicious.
